Holladay’s Photo Emporium – A Brief History Holladay’s Photo Emporium was established in 1974, when Dale and Janice Holladay decided on a major career change from the teaching profession to professional photography. Their first studio was a room addition to their home on Eighth Avenue. Due to the popular demand of their photography the studio was moved to its present location in October of 1977. The building that they occupy is an old bank building built in 1919 and has since be added to the National Registry of Historic Places. It is now a “state of the art” digital portrait facility that is second to none in the State of Arizona.

Photographer/Executive Officer Kristen
is the Holladay’s fourth child and has literally grown up in the
environs of the portrait studio. She is adept in handling ALL
aspects of the studio, from digital capture of the image to the
finished product via the computer. Kristen
brings a fresh new approach to Holladay’s Photo Emporium. Her
style is her own and it is widely accepted by her clients. Not a
week goes by without someone commenting on what a “great time they
had” while being photographed by her. She
believes that having your portrait should be “an experience”,
especially one that you enjoy. She
is a Certified Professional Photographer through the Professional
Photographers of America (PPA). She has also served as President of
the Arizona Professional Photographers Association (AzPPA) for the
year of 2007.

Artisan Award 2008 Through entering State, Regional and National Print Competitions and attending seminars, she continues to widen her photography skills. She is presently working on her Master’s and Craftsman degrees from PPA.
Dale & Janice Holladay PPA Certified
– Masters of Photography – Photographic Craftsmen Dale & Janice are both fourth generation Gila Valley residents. For nearly 30 years they have been providing quality professional portraiture to their friends and neighbors in Southeastern Arizona. Their work is proudly displayed in the homes of clients in over 40 of the 50 United States and some foreign countries. They have both continued to increase their knowledge and expertise by attending workshops, conventions and seminars on a yearly basis since they first opened their doors for business. They have entered their photographic works in annual international competitions, which have earned them many awards and accolades. Through this competition with their peers they have earned Photographer of the Year Awards, Top Ten Photographers in Arizona, International Loan Collection Prints that are displayed in various displays around the world, Kodak Gallery Awards (3 times) which is awarded to only one photographer in each state. They have also received their state association degrees for print excellence and service to the association. Their work and articles have been published three times in various international journals. Their prints have also be included in three internationally circulated display books for print excellence. Through this competition success, they have both been awarded the prestigious degree of “Master of Photography” from Professional Photographers of America. Because of their expertise and knowledge of photography, they have been invited to attended conventions and seminars in states from coast to coast to give programs on how they have successfully managed a business in portrait photography. By sharing this knowledge the Professional Photographers of America awarded them with their Photographic Craftsman degrees. They have both completed the difficult and comprehensive courses of ALL phases of professional photography and passed the Certification Exam, which qualifies them as PPA Certified Professional Photographers. Their most cherished awards are the highest awards that the State & National Associations can bestow. They have both been presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Arizona PPA and the National Award from PPA. These awards are bestowed on individual photographers based on their photographic talent and selfless dedication to promoting the art of professional photography. Dale & Janice are the ONLY husband and wife “team” in the State of Arizona and are one couple of only a handful worldwide to have both received these degrees and awards. Everything that the Holladay’s have accomplished was done so that the good people in their market area could enjoy the best in photography without out having to travel hundreds of miles to do so. With the qualifications listed above, you can be assured that Holladay’s Photo Emporium is second to none in meeting the demands of today’s portrait client. All of which brings us to our MISSION STATEMENT.
